AFC Aldermaston make history

Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Division One side AFC Aldermaston have made history following their defeat at home Downton. Unfortunately it is not a record that the club are proud as this defeat made them the worst English football team in history, smashing the record for the greatest number of consecutive defeats.
The last team to beat the record was Stockport County in 1996.
Aldermaston equalled Stockport's 39 match record and then went on to lose a 40th game in a row on Thursday 8th April 2010.

Poole Town retain Premier Division title

Poole Town have won the Premier Division of the Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) for a second year in a row.
The Dolphins secured their title following a 7-2 away victory at Bournemouth Poppies on Tuesday 13th April 2010. Despite the title however, Poole Town are still awaiting for ground improvements before they can be promoted which has thrown down the gauntlet to both Wimborne Town and Bemerton Heath Harlequins to clinch second place and promotion to the Zamaretto South & West Division One.
